Dragon Quest X is coming to mobile, but so far only in Japan
Dragon Quest X Offline is finally hitting mobile devices in Japan! This MMORPG-style entry in the beloved series, previously only available on consoles and PC, launches tomorrow for iOS and Android. Japanese players can purchase the offline, single-player version at a discounted price.
Gematsu reports that this mobile release offers offline functionality, a significant feature for fans. Interestingly, plans to bring Dragon Quest X to mobile were initially announced way back in 2013 by Ubitu. The offline version, released in 2022, offers a unique experience compared to other Dragon Quest titles, featuring real-time combat, a departure from the series' usual turn-based gameplay.
A Mobile Dragon's Breath, But Only in Japan (For Now)
Unfortunately, there's currently no news regarding a global release of Dragon Quest X Offline for mobile. Given the original game's Japan-only launch, this isn't entirely surprising. While a worldwide release remains a possibility, it's not something to expect immediately.
This is disappointing news for many international fans, including myself, a longtime Dragon Quest enthusiast. The chance to experience even a modified version of Dragon Quest X on mobile would be fantastic.
