Freedom Wars Remastered Unveils Enhanced Gameplay Features
Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed
A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases improved gameplay and control systems, offering a fresh look at this dystopian action RPG. Players will battle formidable mechanical creatures known as Abductors, gather resources, upgrade equipment, and undertake a variety of missions within a resource-depleted world.
Freedom Wars Remastered, launching January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC, boasts significantly enhanced visuals and gameplay refinements. Bandai Namco's latest trailer highlights these updates, including a revamped balance, a challenging new difficulty setting, and other feature improvements.
Originally a PlayStation Vita exclusive, Freedom Wars' development stemmed from Sony's loss of Monster Hunter exclusivity to Nintendo. This action RPG shares a similar gameplay loop with Monster Hunter, tasking players with battling colossal Abductors, collecting parts, and upgrading gear to improve combat effectiveness. Missions, ranging from civilian rescue operations to Abductor extermination and control system capture, can be tackled solo or cooperatively online.
The Remastered Version: A Gameplay Deep Dive
The trailer provides a detailed look at the enhancements in Freedom Wars Remastered. Visual improvements are substantial, with PS5 and PC versions offering 4K (2160p) resolution at 60 frames per second. PS4 players can expect 1080p at 60 FPS, while the Switch version will run at 1080p but at 30 FPS. Gameplay is notably faster-paced than the original, thanks to refined mechanics, increased movement speed, and the ability to cancel weapon attacks.
Crafting and upgrading have also received a major overhaul. The remastered version features more intuitive interfaces and allows for the easy attachment and detachment of modules. A new module synthesis feature enables players to enhance modules using resources obtained from rescued citizens. Finally, a new "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode caters to experienced players, and all original customization DLC from the PS Vita release is included from the outset.
