Rune Slayer: How to Unlock Your Mount

Author : Lily Update : Jan 22,2026

Rune Slayer truly demonstrates how you can enjoy a full MMORPG experience within Roblox. It includes familiar quests like "Defeat 10 X enemies," crafting, dungeons, and even fishing. However, what’s an MMORPG without a trusty mount? Fortunately, Rune Slayer lets you acquire one. Although obtaining a mount isn't especially hard, the game doesn’t clearly explain the process. That's where we come in to guide you.

What You Need Before Getting a Mount

Before you set out to travel the world of Rune Slayer more quickly, there are a couple of prerequisites:

Reach Level 20Tame a Pet

That’s all you need. Neither requirement is particularly tough. Reaching level 20 should only take a few hours (around 5–6, maybe even less if you team up with friends). Focus on completing quests, taking on jobs, and defeating enemies to level up efficiently.

As for taming a pet, a quest will eventually show you how. In short, the process involves these steps:

Locate an animal

you want to tame (such as a Deer, Wolf, or Spider) Strike it once Pull out and hold a food item the animal prefers (for example, Deer enjoy Apples, while Wolves prefer Raw Deer Meat) A Heart icon will appear above the animal’s head, indicating you're trying to tame it If the heart fills completely, the animal will collapse and become your pet If the heart turns black, you’ve failed the taming attempt (don’t worry, it happens)—just find another animal and try again

Once you’ve reached level 20 and have a tamed pet, you're ready for the next stage.

Complete the Mount Quest

Once you hit level 20, Jimmy the Stable Master in Wayshire will offer you a quest. He asks you to deliver a package to the Stable Master in Ashenshire. Accept the “Jimmy’s Delivery” quest and head north through the northern exit of Wayshire. Stick to the road and climb the hill, which leads into Greatwood Forest. Be careful not to stray too far here, as the enemies can be challenging. Continue northward until you arrive at Ashenshire, recognizable by the large houses built high in the trees.

Locate a rope that lets you climb up and interact with it (your character will begin climbing). At the top, the first NPC you encounter is Madonna the Stable Master (see the image). She won’t have a quest marker, so simply speak with her and select “I have a package for you.” She’ll take the delivery. Now, return to Wayshire by retracing your steps south from Ashenshire.

Once back, speak with Jimmy the Stable Master (an exclamation mark will appear above his head), and he’ll reward you with a Saddle. The saddle won’t show up in your inventory—this is likely to prevent accidental selling or loss.

How to Mount Your Pet in Rune Slayer

After receiving the saddle, summon your pet (Hold “T”). Once your pet is out, approach it to see a “Mount” option. Press “E” to hop on. And yes—this method works for all other pets that can be mounted.

That covers everything—enjoy riding your pet and speeding across the lands of Rune Slayer. For more tips, take a look at our Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Rune Slayer. And if you need assistance with fishing, we have a guide for that as well.
