Helldivers 2 CEO Vows Major New Updates
Helldivers 2 is gearing up for some exciting announcements, and developer Arrowhead Game Studios appears confident they’ll make quite an impression. As the studio's CEO puts it, you might want to brace yourself.
As noted by VideoGamer, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani was active in the game’s Discord when a player asked if he could "share any details, however small, about what’s in the works." His reply?
"You'll be blown away."
While specifics weren't revealed, his comment hints at the impressive scope of what's coming—and the potential shock to your system, so to speak.
Jorjani also fielded other questions, mentioning plans to introduce more melee weapons and addressing concerns about content gaps. It's refreshing to see such transparency about the technical hurdles a game like Helldivers 2 faces, and how the team is tackling them over time—all while keeping the conversation fun and engaging.
We’ve already gotten hints of what’s ahead, including an item featuring both a pointed tip and a textured grip. Arrowhead has stated it’s targeting May 8 to unveil its next Warbond, with "more thrilling updates coming shortly after."
In a recent IGN interview, Arrowhead’s production director Alex Bolle shared that the studio aims to be around for "many years to come," emphasizing ongoing development of Helldivers 2 while staying true to the team’s vision.
"As we get better at thriving in a live-service environment—and we’re still learning—the more room we have to experiment with creative systems we hadn’t considered at launch," Bolle told IGN. "Having experience with live games, you start thinking: what if we take a great idea from another title and adapt it with our unique flavor, while staying authentic to our identity? That’s what I’m excited about."
We’ll soon discover what Arrowhead has planned for Helldivers 2 starting next week. Consider yourself warned—and maybe keep an extra change of clothes handy.
