Overwatch 2 Reveals New China-Exclusive Events

Overwatch 2's triumphant return to China on February 19th brings a wealth of rewards and exciting events for players. This relaunch will allow Chinese players to catch up on missed content, including Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1-9 and participation in popular in-game events.

The highly anticipated Season 15 will feature a unique twist: skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology. While specifics remain scarce, the prospect of new or existing skins themed around Chinese mythology is generating significant excitement. The possibility of a broader Season 15 theme mirroring the Norse mythology influence in Season 14 is also being speculated.

A technical test held in early January provided a sneak peek at much of the content, including Overwatch: Classic and new heroes introduced since the game's previous absence in China. Following this test, Overwatch 2's game director, Aaron Keller, confirmed a multi-week celebratory event upon the game's official relaunch. This includes access to Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 and 2 pre-launch, and Seasons 3-9 via post-launch in-game events.

Further adding to the anticipation, the 6v6 "Min 1, Max 3" test runs from January 21st to February 4th, offering classic 2-2-2 team composition. Lunar New Year and Moth Meta Overwatch: Classic events are also scheduled before Season 15. While Chinese players missed these previous events, the upcoming celebratory events promise a unique and rewarding experience tailored for their return. A full reveal of Season 15 is expected in early February.
