Persona 4 Golden: How To Beat Happiness Hands
Quick Links
Golden Hands are formidable foes in Persona 4 Golden, randomly appearing in dungeons, both in the overworld and lurking within chests. Each encounter presents a tougher challenge than the last, making them some of the game's most difficult enemies. Despite their difficulty, defeating them yields substantial XP, making the fight worthwhile. This guide focuses on the Happiness Hands in Yukiko's Castle, a particularly early and challenging encounter.
Happiness Hand Affinities In Persona 4 Golden
Happiness Hands boast a significant resistance to all elemental attacks. The key to victory lies in exploiting their weakness: physical attacks. While Almighty attacks are typically effective against Golden Hands, this strategy isn't viable so early in the game. Happiness Hands inflict minimal damage and may even spend turns idle, but they'll flee at the first opportunity. A weakness exploit or critical hit will trigger their escape, so prioritize targeting a single enemy if multiple appear—defeating even one is a significant achievement at this stage.
How To Beat Happiness Hands In Persona 4 Golden
The most effective strategy involves fusing Orobas, a Persona possessing the Hysterical Slap skill. This skill's dual attacks have a chance to inflict Rage, preventing the Happiness Hands from fleeing. Orobas can be fused using the following Personas:
- Apsaras + Forneus
- Apsaras + Slime
Before engaging, ensure your party is fully healed. Focus solely on physical attacks that consume HP; avoid other actions. Have Yosuke use Sonic Punch, Chie use Skull Cracker, and the protagonist use Hysterical Slap, repeating this cycle until victory. A significant element of luck is involved due to early-game limitations, but defeating a Happiness Hand provides invaluable experience points for your party.
Crucially, avoid All-Out Attacks unless you're certain of a kill; otherwise, the downed Happiness Hand will recover and escape.
