Just Like A Phoenix! Supercell Announces Project R.I.S.E. From The Ashes Of Clash Heroes
Finnish game developer Supercell has made a surprising announcement: after cancelling their RPG, Clash Heroes, they're reviving the concept. However, it's not a simple relaunch. Instead, they're introducing Project R.I.S.E., a new game built from the ground up.
The Full Story:
Clash Heroes is officially cancelled. Confirming earlier rumours, Supercell has shelved the project, mirroring the fate of Clash Mini. But the Clash universe isn't losing this concept entirely. Project R.I.S.E. is its successor, a social action RPG roguelite.
Supercell released a video announcement for Project R.I.S.E. Game lead Julien Le Cadre stated directly, "Clash Heroes is dead. That's the bad news," he continued, "The good news is that Project R.I.S.E. is still a Clash game, and even better news: it's now a multiplayer action RPG."
For more details, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares DNA with Clash Heroes but is a completely different game. It's a social action RPG roguelite.
Gameplay involves three-player teams exploring "The Tower," a mysterious location. Each session covers a different floor, with the objective being to ascend as high as possible. Unlike its predecessor, Project R.I.S.E. prioritizes cooperative multiplayer with diverse characters, abandoning the solo PvE dungeon focus.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration for a chance to participate is open on the official website.
