Retro Royale: Clash Royale Revives Classic Mode

Author : Nova Update : Apr 02,2025

Supercell is taking fans on a nostalgic journey with the introduction of the Retro Royale Mode in Clash Royale, harking back to the game's 2017 launch. This exciting new mode will be available for a limited time from March 12th to March 26th, offering players the chance to earn fantastic rewards as they climb the 30-step ladder to secure Gold and Season Tokens.

As I highlighted yesterday, Supercell's strategy of continually refreshing their top games has kept them at the forefront of the mobile gaming industry. Clash of Clans has already seen significant changes with the removal of Troop Training times, and now, to celebrate Clash Royale's latest anniversary, players can dive into the Retro Royale Mode. Announced through an engaging trailer, this mode will transport players back to the original meta and card lineup of 2017. Participants will have access to a restricted pool of 80 cards as they ascend the Retro Ladder, competing for exclusive rewards.

The competition intensifies as players advance through the ranks. Upon reaching the Competitive League, your starting position will be determined by your progress on the Trophy Road. From there, it's all about showcasing your skills in the Retro Royale Mode, pushing your way up the leaderboard to prove your enduring prowess.

It's quite ironic that just after discussing Supercell's efforts to keep their games fresh, a retro mode is introduced. However, there's a clear distinction between feeling dated and embracing nostalgia, especially when coupled with enticing rewards. It's hard to imagine fans not wanting to jump in and experience this blast from the past.

Keep an eye on this event, as participating in both the Retro Ladder and the Competitive League at least once will earn you a special badge for each.
