Rose's Book Found in KCD2

Certain side quests are easily overlooked, causing you to fail the mission since you can’t go back. This is one of those quests. That’s why it’s useful to know the location of Rosa’s book in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

How to Start the Rosa's Book Side Quest

To get Rosa to request her book, you must first complete the “Via Argentum” quest and begin “Taking French Leave.” After assisting the Ruthard family in dealing with Vavak—through force or persuasion—you are instructed to speak with Rosa. She will tell you about a secret passage into Maleshov to rescue Hans. Once she explains the passage, she will ask you to retrieve a book for her while you are there. Ask her which book it is and promise to bring it back to activate the "Rosa’s Book" quest.

This quest can only be completed during "Taking French Leave." If you leave Maleshov with Hans without finding the book, the quest will fail and you will lose the chance to pursue a romance with Rosa. Fortunately, the book is located along the path to Hans' room.

When you enter Maleshov, Hans is located in the tallest tower, at the very top. Use the set of stairs along the side of the building to reach the entrance. Sneak inside, and you will find another staircase and a small kitchen nearby. Wait in the kitchen until the guards conversing upstairs depart from the tower.

Next, proceed quietly up the stairs to a room where a woman named Lady Ofka is seated, facing the fireplace. Sneak up behind her and knock her out. Take her keys, the keys on the podium in her room, and the sword from the chest. Also in this room, you will find Rosa’s book. Look to the right of the fireplace, where a red book rests in the window alcove. Pick it up, and your objective will update to return the book to Rosa.

While you're here, check the room next door and take another sword from that chest. This will save you time later when you meet Hans, as you need two weapons for him and his unexpected companion. Once you have everything, go to the top level and unlock the door on the left to trigger a cutscene.

After the cutscene, you'll continue with the "Taking French Leave" quest. Although Hans prefers not to use the secret passage, you can work on romancing him by selecting the heart dialogue option here—provided you also chose the heart option earlier in Trosky. From there, sneak to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, knocking out and hiding guards as necessary. Once the path is clear, signal Hans and ensure he reaches the stables without interruption.

Open the gate to start another cutscene that concludes the quest. When it’s over, head back to Kuttenberg City and stop by Ruthard Palace to give Rosa the book she wanted so much in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
