Where to Find Sam in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

To achieve the best ending in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, completing specific tasks is crucial, including rescuing Sam. This guide details how to locate and save Sam during the "Reckoning" quest.

Rescuing Sam During "Reckoning"

Near the main quest's conclusion, you discover Sam is held captive at Praguer's Camp, captured by Brabant. You can infiltrate the camp stealthily or forcefully.

A guard's outfit is recommended for stealth. While you can kill a guard and steal his clothes, looting chests within the camp offers a less violent alternative. Once equipped, you can explore without suspicion.

Sam is in a barn to the left of the camp, beyond the cooking fire. Use the ladder to enter, confronting Brabant. You can choose to kill or spare Brabant; sparing him contributes to the best ending.

The Order of Operations

After freeing Sam, don't immediately leave. He mentions von Aulitz, also in the camp. It's more efficient to deal with von Aulitz, find a horse, then return for Sam. Carrying him to a horse is easier this way.

Von Aulitz is in the main camp. Your guard outfit allows access. He's dying and you can choose to grant him a dignified death (contributing to the best ending), kill him, or leave him.

Finally, retrieve Sam from the barn. Tell any questioning guards you're moving a body to avoid suspicion. Exit the camp, turn right, and find the stables to secure a horse and escape with Sam, progressing the main quest.
