Sony PlayStation State of Play Scheduled for Next Week

Author : Aria Update : Jun 12,2025

Sony is reportedly preparing to host its next PlayStation State of Play broadcast next week—an event that has become a regular fixture in February.

Leaker NateTheHate, who previously and accurately predicted the date of Nintendo’s Switch 2 reveal, hinted at a Valentine’s Day week (February 10–14) broadcast via social media. While nothing is official yet, it’s always exciting to speculate what Sony might showcase during the stream.

Let’s start with the first-party titles confirmed for release in 2025. Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei is set to arrive sometime this year—could we finally get a deeper gameplay dive and a concrete release window?

Bungie’s Marathon, the studio's upcoming PvP extraction shooter, may also make an appearance if plans for playtesting this year are still on track. Meanwhile, Haven Studios’ debut title, Fairgames, could be another candidate for a reveal.

Naughty Dog recently unveiled its brand-new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, while Insomniac continues development on Marvel’s Wolverine. However, one of the more anticipated highlights could be a new trailer for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which is currently scheduled for a 2025 launch.

On the flip side, don’t expect any news about the live-service titles Sony recently canceled. Last month, it was revealed that two unannounced live-service games were scrapped—one each from Bluepoint Games and Bend Studio. The Bluepoint project was rumored to be a live-service God of War game, while Bend Studio’s concept remains under wraps. Guerrilla Games' live-service Horizon title appears to have survived the cuts. Could this be the moment for its long-awaited reveal?

As for third-party reveals, Hideo Kojima’s Physint, a stealth-action exclusive for PlayStation, is in development—but it might still be too early for a major update. A more likely candidate is Phantom Blade Zero, the high-octane hack-and-slash RPG from Chinese developer S-Game.

It’s also worth noting that Microsoft has become a growing presence on PlayStation. With Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming soon to PS5, a release date announcement seems plausible. And here’s a bold idea—might Microsoft use the platform to officially bring Halo to PlayStation?

Looking back can help us look ahead. Last year’s similar State of Play presentation featured updates on Death Stranding 2, Physint, Rise of the Ronin, the Until Dawn remaster, Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, Sonic x Shadow Generations, several Silent Hill projects, Ken Levine’s Judas, Foamstars, and Helldivers 2.

So stay tuned—next week could bring some big surprises.
