Stellar Blade Shift Up Slips Up with DLC Update

Stellar Blade's eagerly anticipated Patch 1.009 update, which introduced the Photo Mode and NieR: Automata collaboration DLC, has unfortunately brought some game-breaking bugs to the surface. However, the developers at Shift Up are swiftly addressing these issues with an upcoming hotfix patch. Let's delve into the specifics of the bugs and the planned fixes.

Stellar Blade Update Introduces Game-Breaking Bugs

Developers Actively Working on Hotfix Patch

Stellar Blade's Patch 1.009 update brought excitement with the introduction of the much-awaited Photo Mode and the collaboration with NieR: Automata. However, it also introduced some serious issues. Players have encountered softlocks when trying to progress through a specific main quest in an earlier dungeon. Additionally, there have been reports of game crashes when using the selfie camera in Photo Mode, and issues with new cosmetic items not rendering correctly on Eve.

Shift Up is diligently working on a hotfix patch to address these problems. They advise players not to force quest progression, as doing so might result in a permanent softlock even after the patch is applied. It's best to wait patiently for the hotfix to ensure a smooth gaming experience.

NieR: Automata DLC and Photo Mode Enhancements

Patch 1.009 enriches Stellar Blade with significant content, highlighted by the NieR: Automata collaboration. As revealed in the PlayStation Blog, the collaboration stemmed from mutual respect and creative synergy between Directors Kim Hyung Tae and Yoko Taro, with NieR: Automata serving as a major inspiration for Stellar Blade. Players can access 11 exclusive collaboration items by visiting Emil, a NieR character now residing in Stellar Blade's world.

The addition of Photo Mode fulfills the long-standing desire of many players to capture personalized snapshots of Stellar Blade's stunning visuals and beloved characters. This feature enables players to pose protagonist Eve and her companions for photos. To further enhance the Photo Mode experience, new photo challenge requests have been added.

Complementing the Photo Mode, Eve receives four new outfits and a new accessory, which becomes available after completing a specific ending, allowing changes to Tachy Mode's appearance. A "No Ponytail" option has been introduced to the ponytail length settings, offering more customization for Eve's look. Other enhancements include lip-sync support for six additional voice-over languages, improved auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various smaller bug fixes to enhance gameplay.

Stay tuned for the hotfix patch to resolve these issues and continue enjoying the enhanced world of Stellar Blade.
