Trump Tariffs Force Razer Laptop Off Market

Author : Ellie Update : Jan 15,2026

The latest round of U.S. import tariffs under the Trump administration is hitting gamers hard, with Razer's Blade 16 gaming laptop now affected. These trade taxes on imported goods often get passed down to consumers, potentially driving up prices for gaming hardware.

While companies sometimes absorb these costs, many products are being temporarily withdrawn from the U.S. market. The Verge reported that although Razer's Blade 16 appeared available for order as recently as April 1st, the purchasing option has vanished from the company's U.S. website completely.

European gamers can currently order the new laptop (when in stock), but American customers only see a "Notify Me" option with no pricing information. Attempting to access the purchase page results in a 404 error.

Razer isn't alone in adjusting its sales strategy. Memory manufacturer Micron has warned about price increases due to tariffs targeting China and Taiwan, while PC maker Framework has temporarily halted some U.S. sales entirely.

The tariff impact extends beyond PC hardware. Nintendo recently removed Switch 2 pre-order listings in the U.S. after the April 9th launch date was affected by market turbulence caused by these trade policies. The delay soon spread to Canada as well.

Industry analysts now speculate whether Nintendo might increase the Switch 2's price beyond the anticipated $450 threshold to offset these new costs. The potential price hike comes amid existing consumer concerns about the console's value proposition.
