Urshifu and Gigantamax Machamp Debut at Pokémon GO’s Final Strike: GO Battle Week

As the Might and Mastery season in Pokémon GO draws to a close, trainers are gearing up for the thrilling conclusion with the Final Strike: GO Battle Week. Mark your calendars for May 21st to May 27th, 2025, as this week promises to be the ultimate test of skill and strategy, bringing your journey with Kubfu to its zenith.

What’s in Store during the Final Strike: GO Battle Week?

After weeks of relentless battling, it's time to witness the transformation of the determined Kubfu into the legendary Urshifu. This evolution offers not one, but two distinct paths. Depending on your battle strategy, you can unlock either the formidable Single Strike style or the agile Rapid Strike style.

To achieve the Single Strike form, make sure Kubfu is your buddy and conquer 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. For the Rapid Strike form during the Final Strike: GO Battle Week, follow the same process but target 30 Water-type Pokémon.

Additionally, a Special Research storyline will continue the seasonal narrative, available until June 3rd, 2025. Engage with this research to earn Kubfu Candy, Mysterious Components, and encounter themed Pokémon such as Charcadet with a Special Background.

May 25th Is a Special Day

On May 25th, prepare for the Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Gigantamax Machamp will make its debut in six-star Max Battles, offering an exhilarating challenge.

During this event, you'll benefit from several bonuses: the distance required to earn Max Particles will be reduced to a quarter of the usual amount. Your Max Particle storage capacity will increase to 1,600, and all Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles. You'll earn 8× Max Particles from these battles and gain the opportunity to perform two additional Special Trades.

Don't miss the chance to collect Max Mushrooms, which temporarily double the damage output of your Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon. You can use multiple Max Mushrooms to extend the duration, though the power boost remains consistent.
