Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 DRM or Denuvo Requirements?

In a recent FAQ, Saber Interactive provided a glimpse into the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 experience. Ahead of its September 9th launch, they confirmed the absence of DRM software like Denuvo.

DRM, or digital rights management, is often used to combat piracy. However, it has a controversial reputation among gamers due to potential performance impacts. Past examples, such as Capcom's use of Enigma DRM in Monster Hunter Rise, have demonstrated the potential for incompatibility issues (including with Steam Deck and modding).

While Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be DRM-free, Saber Interactive confirmed that Easy Anti-Cheat will be implemented on PC. Easy Anti-Cheat faced scrutiny earlier this year following an alleged involvement in a hacking incident during the ALGS 2024 tournament in March.

Furthermore, the developers stated that there are currently no plans for official mod support. However, players can still anticipate exciting features like a PvP arena mode, horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode. Saber Interactive also reassured players that all gameplay content will be free, with microtransactions and DLC limited to cosmetic items only.
