Zenless Zone Zero Tier List: December 24, 2024

HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) boasts a diverse cast of characters, each with unique mechanics and synergy potential. This tier list ranks all ZZZ 1.0 characters, reflecting the current meta as of December 24, 2024. Note that tier lists are dynamic and subject to change with new content and updates. For example, while Grace was initially a top performer, the introduction of numerous strong Anomaly units has diminished her relevance.

Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: The evolving meta necessitates this update to accurately reflect the current character rankings.

S-Tier

S-Tier Characters S-Tier Agents consistently excel in their roles and synergize effectively within teams.

  • Miyabi: Miyabi's swift Frost attacks and immense damage output make her a top contender. While requiring strategic deployment, mastering her abilities allows for devastating battlefield dominance.

Miyabi

  • Jane Doe: A superior version of Piper, Jane Doe's critical hit potential on Assault Anomalies delivers significantly higher damage. Despite the inherent slower pace of Anomaly-focused DPS, her potent Assault capabilities earn her an S-rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

Jane Doe

  • Yanagi: Yanagi excels at triggering Disorder, activating the effect without needing to apply Shock on top of existing Anomalies. This makes her an ideal partner for Miyabi.

Yanagi

  • Zhu Yuan: A high-performing DPS, Zhu Yuan's rapid Shotshell attacks are effective with various Stun and Support characters. Currently, her optimal team composition includes Qingyi and Nicole.

Zhu Yuan

  • Caesar: Caesar redefines the Defensive Agent role. She provides exceptional protection, powerful buffs and debuffs, and scales effectively with Impact for easy enemy stuns. Her crowd control capabilities further solidify her top-tier status.

Caesar

  • Qingyi: A versatile Stunner, Qingyi fits seamlessly into teams with Attack Agents. Her rapid Daze build-up and significant DMG multiplier on stunned enemies surpass Lycaon and Koleda, except in Ellen teams where Lycaon's Ice synergy proves superior.

Qingyi

  • Lighter: A Stun Agent with substantial buffs, Lighter synergizes best with Fire and Ice characters, making him a valuable asset given the strength of units within these elements.

Lighter

  • Lycaon: Lycaon's Ice-based stun capabilities, coupled with his ability to reduce enemy Ice resistance and boost ally Daze DMG, make him essential for any Ice team.

Lycaon

  • Ellen: An Attack Agent utilizing Ice for damage, Ellen's synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku contributes to her top-tier ranking. Her damage output, particularly with EX Special Attacks and Ultimates, is significantly amplified by their support.

Ellen

  • Harumasa: An S-Rank Electric-Attack Agent (initially free), Harumasa delivers powerful hits after specific setup.

Harumasa

  • Soukaku: A supportive buffer, Soukaku enhances Ice Anomaly build-up and provides significant Ice buffs to allies like Ellen and Lycaon.

Soukaku

  • Rina: Rina provides substantial DMG while granting allies PEN (defense ignore), excelling with PEN Ratio builds. Her Shock Anomaly build-up and buffs make her valuable to Electric characters.

Rina

A-Tier

A-Tier Characters A-Tier Agents are strong within specific team compositions.

  • Nicole: A supportive Ether buffer, Nicole's energy fields are beneficial for AoE units like Nekomata, and she significantly reduces enemy DEF and boosts team Ether DMG. However, her effectiveness is primarily limited to Ether DPS units.

Nicole

  • Seth: A solid shield and support, but not as impactful as top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche support for Anomaly DPS is less universally beneficial than ATK buffs for Anomaly teams.

Seth

  • Lucy: An off-field DMG dealer and support, Lucy provides a substantial ATK% buff and continuous damage. Her DPS increases with synergistic character pairings.

Lucy

  • Piper: While primarily reliant on her EX Special Attack, Piper's Assault Anomaly generation and damage potential remain strong, especially when paired with other Anomaly units for consistent Disorder triggers.

Piper

  • Grace: Grace's ability to quickly Shock and trigger continuous DMG remains relevant in Anomaly teams, but the influx of new Anomaly Agents has lowered her overall ranking.

Grace

  • Koleda: A reliable Fire/Stun character, Koleda's rapid Daze build-up makes her versatile, especially in teams with other Fire units. Her synergy with Ben adds further value.

Koleda

  • Anby: An effective Stunner, Anby's quick combos are reliable, but her susceptibility to interruption holds her back compared to other Stun Agents.

Anby

  • Soldier 11: A straightforward high-DMG dealer with simple mechanics. Her Fire-infused attacks are easily activated, but less strategically nuanced than other options.

Soldier 11

B-Tier

B-Tier Characters B-Tier Agents offer some utility, but are outperformed by others.

  • Ben: The only defensive character in ZZZ 1.0, Ben's parry and punish mechanics are fun but his combat performance is slow and his team benefits are limited.

Ben

  • Nekomata: Nekomata deals significant AoE DMG but heavily relies on team support, currently lacking optimal synergy partners within her element and faction. Future updates may improve her standing.

Nekomata

C-Tier

C-Tier Characters C-Tier Agents currently offer limited value.

  • Corin: A Physical DMG dealer whose damage excels against stunned enemies, but outperformed by Nekomata and Piper.

Corin

  • Billy: While dealing some damage, Billy's overall DMG output is low compared to other Attack units.

Billy

  • Anton: Anton's Shock DMG trigger is interesting, but his low DPS and single-target focus limit his effectiveness.
