Сheaters in Black Ops 6 kick players, Activision made false claims about fixing the issue
A video surfaced online in late January showcasing a tool allowing hackers to remove players from Black Ops 6 matches. Activision responded, stating the video was from the Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta and that the vulnerability was patched before the game's November release. They claim the current game state is unaffected.
However, players dispute this, citing recent videos demonstrating the tool's use in live matches, including one on the Nuketown map—added a week after launch. This suggests the vulnerability persists.
Despite this controversy, Black Ops 6 was the top-selling game in the US last year, according to Circana analysts, continuing the Call of Duty franchise's 16-year reign at the top of the US gaming market. Meanwhile, EA Sports College Football 25, released in July, emerged as the most played sports game in the US.
While overall US gamer spending dipped 1.1% year-over-year in 2024, Circana attributes this to reduced hardware demand, noting a 2% increase in add-on spending and a 6% rise in service spending. The second season of Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2, featuring a ninja theme and a Terminator crossover, launched on January 28th.
