Alan Wake 2 Tops 2 million Sales and Finally Starts Turning a Profit

Alan Wake 2 surpasses 2 million global sales, exceeding initial projections. This surpasses the 1.3 million units sold between October 2023 and March 2024, a period where Remedy Entertainment celebrated it as their fastest-selling title.

Remedy's recent investor report attributes this achievement, alongside the launch of the Lake House expansion and the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition, to the commencement of royalty accrual following the recovery of development and marketing expenditures.

The studio also provided updates on upcoming projects. Control 2, a collaborative effort with Annapurna Interactive, is nearing completion of its production readiness phase and will commence full production in late February 2025. Simultaneously, the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake is progressing steadily in full production.

Development of FBC: Firebreak, Remedy's multiplayer Control spin-off, continues at full speed following a successful closed technical test in December. This test focused on evaluating matchmaking and backend services. While a release date remains unannounced, Remedy will self-publish FBC: Firebreak later in 2025.
