Mackenyu Arata, One Piece Star, Voices Gennojo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Mackenyu, renowned for his portrayal of Roronoa Zoro in the One Piece Netflix series, will provide both the Japanese and English voice for Gennojo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft's new feudal Japan-set title. Ubisoft describes Gennojo as a key character who will aid the protagonist in eliminating a significant target.
Ubisoft further elaborates on Gennojo's personality: "A charming rogue, reckless yet deeply conflicted, driven by guilt to reform a corrupt system. He's a flirtatious trickster, blending wit, deception, and confidence. His strong sense of justice, particularly towards the vulnerable, fuels his willingness to risk everything to achieve his goals."
While the exact point of Gennojo's introduction remains undisclosed, his importance to the game's storyline is confirmed. According to Mackenyu, Gennojo is a member of the "Shinobi League" and can essentially be recruited as a companion throughout the game.
