Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Post-Launch Updates
Bug Fixes and Localization Improvements
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has released its first update following its launch. Sandfall Interactive shared on April 30 via a Steam blog post that Hotfix 1.2.2 is now live, concentrating on resolving several bugs and enhancing the game's localization.
This update tackles in-game issues, including soft-locks caused by stunning the Grown Bourgeon and similar problems on the world map. Additionally, the update includes improvements to the French, German, and Chinese language support within the game.
The developers are committed to ongoing improvements and have promised more updates soon. While these patches are crucial for enhancing gameplay, the community is eagerly awaiting larger updates, such as potential downloadable content (DLC).
Earlier this week, Expedition 33's lead writer took to Instagram to address fan inquiries about the possibility of DLC. Although no official confirmation was given, the response was optimistic, hinting at a strong likelihood of DLC due to the game's success.
Expedition 33 Director Recommends Another RPG Released on the Same Day
In related news, Sandfall Games' Creative Director, Guillaume Broche, recommended another RPG that launched on the same day as Expedition 33. In a tweet on April 30 via Expedition 33’s official X account, Broche encouraged fans to explore The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, describing it as "another great turn-based RPG made with love by an awesome team."
This recommendation came in response to The Hundred Line’s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka's earlier tweet on April 28, where he praised Expedition 33. Kodaka encouraged players to experience both RPGs, calling Expedition 33 an "amazing" game.
Despite the competition from other RPGs like Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered released the same week, The Hundred Line has received a "Very Positive" rating on Steam. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 continues to lead as the highest-rated game of 2025, achieving sales of over 1 million copies in just three days.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For the latest updates and news about the game, be sure to check out our dedicated article below!
