Crunchyroll Launches Crypt Of The NecroDancer on Android

Anime streaming powerhouse Crunchyroll has brought the cult-classic rhythm roguelike, Crypt of the NecroDancer, to Android devices. Now titled 'Crunchyroll: NecroDancer,' this beat-driven adventure first captivated audiences on PC back in April 2015. Developed by Brace Yourself Games, the game had a brief stint on iOS in 2016 and Android in 2021, and it's now making a triumphant return to both platforms, packed with new content, courtesy of Crunchyroll.

What’s Crypt of the NecroDancer About?

In Crypt of the NecroDancer, you step into the rhythmically challenged boots of Cadence, a treasure hunter's daughter on a quest to find her missing father in a haunting, beat-filled crypt. This roguelike experience ensures that every run through the game is unique.

Players can choose from 15 distinct characters, each offering different play styles and challenges. The game syncs your movements and attacks to the pulsating beats of Danny Baranowsky’s original soundtrack, requiring you to dance, dodge enemies, and collect loot through procedurally generated dungeons. Staying in rhythm is key—miss a beat, and you're out. From dancing skeletons to hip-hop dragons, the enemies are just as rhythmically inclined as you are. This Isn’t Just A Basic Port

Crunchyroll and Brace Yourself Games have enriched the mobile version of Crypt of the NecroDancer with exciting additions. The game features remixes, new content, and unique Danganronpa character skins for fans of anime crossovers. It also supports cross-platform multiplayer and modding, adding layers of depth and replayability.

For fans of Hatsune Miku, there's even more to look forward to. Later this year, DLC featuring the virtual pop sensation along with the Synchrony expansion will be released. If you're a Crunchyroll subscriber, you can dive into this rhythm roguelike experience right away. Check it out on the Google Play Store.

And while you're at it, don't miss out on our other exciting news. The first-ever Star Trek Lower Decks x Doctor Who: Lost In Time crossover is set to launch soon!
