DC's Absolute Universe: A Chronological Reading Guide

Author : Connor Update : May 16,2025

DC's All In publishing initiative empowers renowned creators to explore the depths of the label's iconic heroes, unshackled by the constraints of pre-existing continuity. Spearheaded by comics legend and Batman veteran Scott Snyder, along with longtime Flash writer Joshua Williamson, the initiative includes the Absolute Universe. This is a bold follow-up to the Absolute Power arc that concluded in late 2024. Absolute Universe, which kicked off in October, introduces a fresh status quo for DC's premier trio—Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman—promising to upend fans' expectations of these beloved characters.

With multiple ongoing titles within the event, keeping up with the Absolute Universe can be a challenge. We're here to provide clarity on the chronology and recommended reading order for 2025.

Note: It's important not to confuse Absolute Universe titles with DC's "Absolute" collected editions, such as the new Absolute Batman: Zero Year. These are separate entities!

The Reading Order

For all ongoing series, begin with our suggested reading sequence, then proceed with issues as they're released. Each main Absolute series is slated for a six-issue run and will later be compiled into trade paperback collections.

Upcoming Collected Editions

As of now, only the first three Absolute titles have announced release dates for their collected editions:

  • Absolute Batman Vol. 1: The Zoo - August 5
  • Absolute Wonder Woman Vol. 1: The Last Amazon - August 12
