Initially announced in 2018, the Devil May Cry anime is confirmed for an eight-episode first season. While plot specifics remain shrouded in mystery, it seems the series will center around Dante, drawing inspiration from the events of the first three Devil May Cry games. However, any direct connections to the game's storyline are yet to be officially confirmed. Interestingly, Dante will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, who is known for voicing Nero in the video game franchise.
The last mainline entry in the Devil May Cry franchise was Devil May Cry 5, released in 2019. This title marked a triumphant return to form for the series, following a period of relative inactivity since the release of DmC: Devil May Cry in 2013. Critically acclaimed as a top-tier action game, Devil May Cry 5 is highly recommended, especially for fans of titles like Ninja Gaiden Black 2. Read our comprehensive review of Devil May Cry 5 here.
