DOOM launched on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter

The DOOM franchise's cross-platform adaptability continues to amaze. A recent feat showcases the game running on an unexpected device: Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter. NyanSatan, the ingenious individual behind this accomplishment, leveraged the adapter's iOS-based firmware and 168 MHz processor to achieve this remarkable result. Due to the adapter's lack of internal memory, a MacBook was used to facilitate the firmware transfer and game execution.

The upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages promises enhanced accessibility. Developers are focusing on customization, allowing players to adjust demon aggression, enemy damage, difficulty levels, projectile speed, and damage intake. Further adjustments include modifying the game's pace, aggression levels, and parry timing.

Executive producer Marty Stratton emphasized the game's accessibility, stating that the studio aimed to make it playable for a wider audience. Importantly, Stratton confirmed that prior knowledge of DOOM: The Dark Ages isn't necessary to understand the storylines in either DOOM: The Dark Ages or DOOM: Eternal.
