Elden Ring Nightreign Scalpers and Scammers Already on the Loose

FromSoftware has begun sending confirmation emails for the highly anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign network test. Let's delve into the details of the test and address the concerning scams currently circulating.

Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test Confirmation Emails

On January 30th, 2025, FromSoftware announced via Twitter (X) that confirmation emails were dispatched to those who applied for the Elden Ring Nightreign network test. Excited fans quickly shared their confirmations online.

A follow-up email, containing a unique download code for the test client (available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S), will be sent on February 11th, 2025.

The application period ran from January 10th to January 20th, 2025. Unfortunately, FromSoftware hasn't indicated whether additional test opportunities will be available for those who didn't receive an email.

The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test Itself

FromSoftware describes the network test as a preliminary verification to assess online systems via large-scale load testing. This will help determine server capacity for the full game's launch.

The test runs from February 14th to 16th, 2025, with five 3-hour sessions:

  • Session 1: February 14th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
  • Session 2: February 14th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT
  • Session 3: February 15th, 11 AM - 2 PM PT
  • Session 4: February 16th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
  • Session 5: February 16th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT

Beware: Scams and Scalpers

Reports indicate a scam circulating on Steam, where fake Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test invites redirect users to malicious sites, potentially compromising accounts and spamming friend lists. Remember, FromSoftware only distributed invites via its official website and social media channels. Any links outside these sources should be treated with extreme caution.

Furthermore, scalpers are already attempting to profit from the limited-access test. Despite codes not being released until February 11th, listings for "confirmed test codes" are appearing on various online marketplaces, with exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, and some even being auctioned.
