Forspoken

Forspoken, despite its free PS Plus offering, continues to spark heated debate nearly a year post-launch. Even those who experienced it for free are as divided on its merits as those who paid full price.

The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium announcement revealed a surprisingly positive response to Forspoken (alongside Sonic Frontiers), with many players expressing anticipation.

However, a significant portion of those who played the free version abandoned it within hours, citing poor storytelling and "ridiculous" dialogue. While some appreciated the combat, parkour, and exploration, the overall sentiment suggests that the narrative and dialogue significantly detract from the experience.

PS Plus's free offering appears unlikely to revitalize Forspoken due to its inherent inconsistencies. The action RPG follows Frey, a New Yorker transported to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Athia. Armed with newfound magical abilities, Frey must navigate this vast realm, battling monstrous creatures and powerful matriarchs known as the Tants, all while searching for a way back home.
