The Gothic 1 Remake demo has been released on Steam
THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled a new trailer for the Gothic 1 Remake demo, "Nyras Prologue," timed with its release.
Unlike the original Gothic, where players embody the Nameless Hero, the remake introduces Nyras, a prisoner, as the playable character. His objective remains the same: survival in the unforgiving game world.
Launched during the Steam Next Fest, the demo has already achieved a record number of concurrent players for the entire Gothic series:

This prologue showcases the remake's enhanced visuals, animations, and Unreal Engine 5-powered combat system. While the demo doesn't fully represent the expansive gameplay and RPG depth of the complete game, it offers a compelling glimpse.
The Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, GOG), though a specific release date is yet to be announced.
