Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Following the March 2025 update for *Fields of Mistria*, Essence Stones can be discovered inside chests scattered throughout the mines. My first encounter was on Floor 60 while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal, but these chests can appear on any level across various biomes. Be cautious of mimic enemies, which can masquerade as chests and deal damage upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. While smaller stones are more common, diligent exploration can lead to larger finds. If you struggle to locate them, consider crafting them at the Stone Refinery within the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery, introduced in the March 2025 update, allows you to craft Essence Stones in *Fields of Mistria*. Building this refinery is part of a new story quest where Adeline recruits you to work alongside Olric and Errol.

To construct the Stone Refinery, you'll need:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes using Stone and Essence. The amount of materials required varies with the size of the stone:

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery enables crafting a variety of common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items such as Obsidian and Diamond, making it a vital hub for your crafting needs in Mistria.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update also brought the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which rely on Essence Stones for operation. Larger stones provide a longer charge, with Large Essence Stones offering the most extended duration.

The auto-petter mechanic is linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. With an Essence Stone inserted, it automatically pets all animals within each day. You can find this statue in a concealed cave near Errol’s house in the Narrows, accessible using the Dragon’s Breath spell. Additional statues can be crafted once unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic is activated by the Water Sprite Statue, which can be placed anywhere on your farm to water crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. You'll find this statue and its crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, past the Lighthouse area. Access it by swimming and using Dragon’s Breath on the entrance.

Essence Stones are set to play an increasingly important role in *Fields of Mistria* with future updates from NPC Studio.
