These are some early-game insights that would have significantly eased our initial experience.

Avoid Unprovoked Player Attacks

Initially, the prospect of full-loot PvP in Rune Slayer was concerning. However, death doesn't result in item loss, regardless of the killer. The catch? Attacking players incurs a bounty. More kills mean a larger bounty, leading to greater item loss upon your own death. Essentially, full-loot PvP is self-imposed. Unless you're strategically ganking with friends, avoid attacking other players.

Craft Bags Immediately

Inventory and bank space are severely limited. Fortunately, crafting bags expands capacity. The initial Cotton Bag provides 10 extra slots. Gather Cotton north of Wayshire and Flax south (be cautious of southern mobs) to craft these essential upgrades promptly.

Pet Deaths are Temporary

Contrary to initial impressions, pet deaths aren't permanent. A five-minute cooldown prevents summoning after a pet reaches zero health. Check this cooldown using the 'T' key. After the cooldown, resummon your pet with the 'T' key. For quick healing, store and retrieve your pet at the stable master (using the free slot).

Accept All Quests

The sheer volume of quests in Rune Slayer might seem daunting. While most are non-repeatable and unmemorable (typical "kill X" quests), accepting all available quests (including those from the job board) simplifies progression. Often, multiple quests can be completed simultaneously.

Craft Everything at Least Once

Prioritize crafting necessary items, but utilize spare materials to craft anything you can. Initial crafting often unlocks more advanced recipes. For example, smelting Iron Ore unlocked a range of Iron Armor crafting options.

Join a Guild

Rune Slayer is solo-friendly, but challenging enemies require group efforts. Guilds are the easiest way to find groups, particularly for high-health bosses. Use general chat or the official Rune Slayer Discord to find a guild and tackle tougher challenges together.
