Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Manager, Matthew Griffin, confirms that Hollow Knight: Silksong is still under active development and will eventually be released. This follows recent speculation fueled by a cake-related profile picture change by a co-creator. While that proved unrelated to a Silksong announcement or ARG, Griffin's statement provides much-needed reassurance to anxious fans.

Griffin's confirmation on X (formerly Twitter) directly addressed fan concerns, stating definitively, "Yes the game is real, progressing and will release." This marks the first official update on the game's status in over a year and a half. A YouTuber, fireb0rn, initially investigated the cake incident, discovering it was a non-event, but Griffin's subsequent confirmation is significant.

A Long-Awaited Sequel

Initially unveiled in February 2019 with a projected release in the first half of 2023, Silksong was delayed in May 2023 due to its expanded scope and the developers' desire for further refinement. Team Cherry previously highlighted the game's features, including a new kingdom, nearly 150 new enemies, and a challenging "Silk Soul" mode. The delay, nearing two years, has understandably tested the patience of many fans.
