Josef Fares Reveals Key Details About Split Fiction in Recent Interview
Hazelight Studios' Josef Fares recently revealed key details about their upcoming title, Split Fiction, in a MinnMax interview. Reiterating previous statements, Fares stressed Hazelight's unwavering commitment to a traditional development model, eschewing live-service elements and microtransactions. The studio has no plans for an IPO or acquisition:
"We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."
The core Split Fiction narrative clocks in at approximately 12-14 hours, comparable to It Takes Two. With optional missions and extra content, the total playtime extends to 16-17 hours.
While Hazelight is known for its co-op games, Fares hinted at the potential for future single-player projects. Despite a budget double that of It Takes Two, Split Fiction will not feature post-launch DLC; all content is available from launch. Split Fiction launches worldwide on March 6th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
