KCD 2 Hardcore Mode Introduces New Debuffs

For players who found Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 too easy, Warhorse Studios is responding with a new update. This patch will add a hardcore mode, letting players enable specific perks that impose a range of drawbacks on the main character, Henry, transforming the core gameplay.

Several demanding perks will be available, each introducing its own challenges:

The "sore back" perk lowers Henry’s maximum carry weight and makes him more prone to injury when gathering herbs and mushrooms. The "heavy footsteps" perk causes footwear to deteriorate faster and makes footsteps louder, compromising stealth. The "dimwit" perk reduces experience gain by 20%—a disadvantage the developers playfully highlight twice in the description. The "sweaty" perk makes the protagonist soiled and smelly more quickly, affecting how others interact with him. The "ugly mug" perk increases the chance that random encounters become full-on brawls, as opponents will refuse to surrender and fight to the death.

These new features are designed to deliver a deeper, more demanding journey for those craving a greater test in the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
