Krysten Ritter Officially Returning as Jessica Jones for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter is officially set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The announcement was made during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, confirming months of speculation and rumors about the return of the beloved Marvel character to the screen.

Ritter, alongside her co-star from Daredevil and The Defenders, Charlie Cox, shared her enthusiasm for returning to the role. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter expressed. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

As Netflix's relationship with original Marvel content began to fade, so did the prospects of seeing Ritter as Jones again.

However, Disney's reacquisition of certain Marvel character rights in 2021, including Jessica Jones, reignited hope among fans. Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again fueled speculation about the potential reintroduction of other Netflix heroes into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). With the Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, Ritter's return in Season 2 feels like a natural progression.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in the third season of the series, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more adventures for the character within the MCU, though for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While a specific release date hasn't been announced, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes will be available in March 2026.
