The official synopsis describes The Odyssey as a sweeping action epic, filmed globally using cutting-edge IMAX film technology. This marks the first time Homer's seminal work will grace IMAX screens.
The story follows Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his decade-long odyssey home after the Trojan War. While Universal remains tight-lipped about further plot details, speculation abounds regarding the impressive ensemble cast.
Early reports suggested Matt Damon was a frontrunner for the lead role, signifying his return to Universal after his acclaimed performance in Oppenheimer, a film that garnered seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. Further reports indicate a potential star-studded cast alongside Damon, possibly including Charlize Theron, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, and Robert Pattinson.
