Avex Pictures has just unveiled an exciting new mobile game inspired by the beloved series, Made in Abyss. After captivating audiences through manga, anime, and a 3D action RPG, the enthralling story of Made in Abyss is now set to embark on its first mobile gaming adventure.
What’s the Scoop?
The newly announced mobile game, titled Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey, was introduced alongside the launch of its official X account. This account is expected to provide regular updates as the game approaches its release date. While details about the gameplay are still scarce, it's confirmed to be a casual mobile title, initially launching on Android and iOS platforms exclusively in Japan. There has been no mention yet of a global release.
Dived into the Abyss Yet?
The Made in Abyss saga began in 2012 with a manga by Akihito Tsukushi, serialized on Web Comic Gamma. The story centers around Riko, a young orphan from the town of Orth, which is perched on the edge of a colossal vertical chasm known as the Abyss. This mysterious abyss is teeming with ancient technology, bizarre creatures, and a chilling enigma that has claimed countless explorers.
Riko aspires to emulate her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished into the depths of the Abyss. On her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a half-robot boy with no recollection of his origins. Together, they venture deeper into the Abyss, fully aware of the perilous journey ahead.
The manga's popularity led to an anime adaptation in 2017, followed by a sequel film, Dawn of the Deep Soul, released in Japan in 2020. Additionally, in 2022, Chime Corporation released a console and PC RPG titled Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.
