NieR: Automata - Where To Get The Engine Blade
Quick Links
NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique YoRHa designs, but one weapon will resonate with Square Enix fans: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and stats during a first playthrough.
Where To Find the Engine Blade in NieR: Automata
The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to progress to a later point in the game as 2B. Alternatively, Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides quicker access. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point, take the right path (2D camera perspective). Pass a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially lethal presses. Jump to the next cylindrical area with spider-like enemies.
Enter the door to the left, climbing more stairs while avoiding falling explosive enemies. A railing ends midway, revealing an extended platform. Moving forward shifts the camera angle, initiating another 2D platforming section across presses to the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest.
Caution: Explosive enemies will descend from the ceiling as you approach.
Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 160-200
- Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3
This weapon allows four upgrades, culminating in a seven-hit light combo (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, its damage range is tighter, providing more predictable damage output.
