Point-And-Click Mystery Game The Darkside Detective Is Now Out, Along With Its Sequel A Fumble in the Dark

Akupara Games has recently released a flurry of titles. Following our coverage of the deck-building game Zoeti, we now turn our attention to The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle adventure, and its recently released sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (yes, both are available!).

A Glimpse into the Darkside Detective Universe

The game opens on a gloomy, fog-laden night in Twin Lakes – a town where the strange, supernatural, and utterly absurd are commonplace. Our protagonists are Detective Francis McQueen and his endearingly clumsy partner, Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, a perpetually underfunded branch of the Twin Lakes Police Department. Players will tackle nine bite-sized cases, delving into the hilarious and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.

These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges, from time-travel mysteries and tentacled horrors to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. See the action for yourself in the trailer below!

The game is a playful homage to pop culture, referencing classic horror films, sci-fi series, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone are intriguing: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.
