The base Tour Pass is completely free and automatically assigned to players when the *Pokémon GO* Tour: Unova event begins on February 24th at 10 AM local time. A paid version, the Tour Pass Deluxe, is also available for $14.99 USD (or local equivalent), offering an instant Victini encounter, upgraded rewards, and faster progression through the Tour Pass tiers.

How Do You Earn Tour Points & What Do They Do?

Tour Points are earned through familiar in-game activities like catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching eggs. Daily refreshed Pass Tasks offer additional point-earning opportunities during the GO Tour. These points unlock rewards, increase your rank, and provide escalating Catch XP bonuses. Reaching Tier 2 grants a 1.5x Catch XP bonus, Tier 3 a 2x bonus, and Tier 4 a generous 3x bonus. While Niantic has yet to reveal all rewards, the free Tour Pass culminates in a Zorua encounter with a unique background. The paid Tour Pass Deluxe offers a different final reward: the Lucky Trinket.

What Is a Lucky Trinket?

The Lucky Trinket, the ultimate reward for the Tour Pass Deluxe, is a one-time-use item that transforms a friend (at least Great Friends level) into a Lucky Friend, enabling a Lucky Pokémon trade without requiring Best Friend status. Remember, Lucky Trinkets obtained during GO Tour: Unova expire on March 9, 2025.
