Pokémon Fossil Museum to Display Real and Fake Fossils in U.S. Next Year
The Pokémon Company has officially announced that the Pokémon Fossil Museum will be making its North American debut in May 2026. Curious about what the Pokémon Fossil Museum entails? It's an enthralling exhibition that juxtaposes the fictional fossils of Pokémon with those of real ancient lifeforms. Following its initial launch in Japan, this unique exhibit will be showcased at Chicago's Field Museum starting May 22, 2026, marking its first venture outside Japan.
During your visit to the museum, you'll have the opportunity to explore vibrant Pokémon models displayed alongside genuine extinct species from the Field Museum's collection. This includes scientific casts of iconic Field Museum dinosaurs such as SUE the T. rex and the Chicago Archaeopteryx, placed next to Fossil Pokémon like Tyrantrum and Archeops. The museum prompts visitors with the engaging question, "How many differences (and similarities) will you spot, Trainers?"
