PS4 Games Departing PlayStation Plus in 2023

Author : Zachary Update : Feb 25,2025

Sony is phasing out PlayStation 4 games from its PlayStation Plus Essentials and Games Catalog starting January 2026, focusing its efforts on PlayStation 5 titles.

This change, announced alongside February 2025's PlayStation Plus monthly games, reflects a shift in player preference towards PS5 games. The PlayStation Blog post stated that PS4 games will only be offered occasionally in the future for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and the Game Catalog. Existing subscribers will retain access to previously downloaded PS4 titles, and Games Catalog games will remain playable until their scheduled removal.

Sony emphasized its commitment to enhancing the PlayStation Plus experience, highlighting ongoing benefits like exclusive discounts, online multiplayer, and cloud saves. The company anticipates adding new PS5 titles to the monthly lineup.
