The Sims 1 and 2 Return to PC at Last Today via The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle
Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with Legacy Collections!
EA and Maxis are commemorating The Sims' 25th anniversary with a fantastic surprise: The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are back on PC! Available now are The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, also bundled together for $40 in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.
These releases offer nearly complete packages. The Sims: Legacy Collection includes all expansion packs and, notably, a bonus Throwback Fit Kit. The Sims 2: Legacy Collection contains all expansions and almost all stuff packs—the only apparent omission is the 2008 IKEA Home Stuff pack. It also boasts a bonus Grunge Revival Kit.
This marks a significant return for both titles. The Sims 1, originally a disc-only release, has been unavailable for years except through difficult-to-acquire physical copies. While The Sims 2 was previously offered in an Ultimate Collection, that version was discontinued. Now, all four main Sims games are easily accessible digitally.
Our original reviews awarded The Sims 1 a 9.5/10 and The Sims 2 an 8.5/10. Despite the series' evolution, these originals retain their charm, offering simpler gameplay, unique challenges, and a nostalgic experience.
The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
