Spider-Man Swings Into Popular Card Battle Game

Following August's Young Avengers season, Marvel Snap (Free) swings into a new season themed around everyone's favorite web-slinger: the Amazing Spider-Season! While Bonesaw remains absent (for now!), this season introduces exciting new cards and locations. Let's dive in!

This season's highlight is the introduction of "Activate" abilities. Unlike "On Reveal," Activate abilities let players choose when to trigger a card's effect, offering strategic flexibility and avoiding potential counter-play. The Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man (4-Cost, 6-Power), boasts an Activate ability that absorbs the lowest-cost card at its location and copies its text, even re-triggering On Reveal effects. Pairing him with Galactus promises chaotic fun, although his power level might necessitate a nerf later in the season.

Let's look at the other new additions:

• Silver Sable: (1-Cost, 1-Power) On Reveal: Steals 2 Power from the top card of your opponent's deck. A solid card on its own, and even more effective in specific deck combinations.
• Madame Web: (Ongoing) Allows you to move one card at her location to another location once per turn.
• Arana: (1-Cost, 1-Power) Activate: Moves the next card you play to the right and gives it +2 Power. A potential staple in move-based decks.
• Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly): (4-Cost, 5-Power) Activate: Spawns an identical clone at another location. Amplify his power, then duplicate the effect!

Two new locations join the fray:

• Brooklyn Bridge: A classic Spider-Man location with a unique twist: you can't play cards there two turns in a row, demanding creative deck-building.
• Otto's Lab: Similar to Otto Octavius himself, this location pulls a card from your opponent's hand to the location when you play a card there – expect surprises!
