Tencent's "The Hidden Ones" Unveiled for 2025
Morefun Studios' highly anticipated 3D action game, previously known as Hitori no Shita: The Outcast, is back! Now titled The Hidden Ones, this brawling, parkour-filled adventure is set to launch in 2025, with a pre-alpha test slated for January.
Based on the popular webcomic, The Hidden Ones transports players to modern-day China, following the journey of young martial artist Zhang Chulan. His grandfather's seemingly ordinary martial arts techniques are revealed to be highly sought after, thrusting Chulan into a world of intense conflict.
The recently released gameplay trailer (see below) showcases impressive visuals and introduces secondary protagonist Wang Ye. Prepare for exhilarating parkour sequences, dynamic 3D combat, energy projectile exchanges, and intense brawling action.
A Darker, Grittier Aesthetic
Information on The Hidden Ones has been scarce, adding to the mystery surrounding the game's multiple titles. However, initial impressions suggest a visually stunning experience. The game boasts a darker, grittier aesthetic than many other 3D ARPGs, offering a more grounded and intense atmosphere.
The success of The Hidden Ones will depend on its ability to attract players unfamiliar with the source material. However, the game's blend of intense kung-fu action and parkour promises a thrilling experience.
