Ubisoft Patches AC Origins, Valhalla for Windows 11 Compatibility

Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of good news to share. The company has successfully tackled a frustrating issue that has been plaguing gamers since at least the fall of 2024.

Ubisoft has resolved the compatibility problems between several Assassin’s Creed titles, including Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the 24H2 update for Windows 11. These issues had previously caused these popular games to malfunction on the new operating system. The solution came in the form of new patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for both Origins and Valhalla.

The gaming community has responded positively to these updates. Comments under the patch notes show gamers expressing their relief and gratitude towards Ubisoft for the long-awaited fix. Interestingly, despite the resolution of this issue, the recent reviews for both games on Steam remain "Mixed." This suggests that while the fix is appreciated, other aspects of the games continue to influence player sentiment.

Looking forward, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Originally slated for an earlier launch, the game's release has been postponed to March 20. Ubisoft's decision to delay aims to enhance the game's quality, a move seen as critical given that the success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows could significantly impact the company's future.
