How to Unlock the Shu True Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To access the hidden Shu true ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay stages, and you'll notice a golden banner next to "The Battle of Changban." This signifies an alternate path.
The standard Battle of Changban involves escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei holds the line. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao directly. This is a challenging 1 vs. 1000 scenario, requiring you to overcome Cao Cao's overwhelming forces largely on your own. Failure to defeat Cao Cao before Liu Bei falls means restarting the battle.
To improve your odds:
- Reduce Difficulty: Set the game to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this a significantly easier task on a lower difficulty.
- Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This places you closer to Cao Cao's initial deployment, saving valuable time.
During the battle, conserve your Musou Rage for key moments. Cao Cao will deploy two Grand Tactics: one requiring two officer kills, and another demanding 250 soldier defeats. A weapon like twin pikes is highly recommended for quickly dispatching large numbers of soldiers. Once Cao Cao's army is significantly weakened, defeating him should be more manageable. After this pivotal victory, only a few additional missions remain before the true Shu ending is revealed.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
