Unveiling the Secrets of Marvel Rivals Season 1 Maps
Marvel Rivals Season 1: A New York City Nightscape of Maps
Marvel Rivals Season 1 continues to expand its offerings with a wave of new content. Beyond the Fantastic Four additions and cosmetic updates, the game introduces several new maps themed around a nocturnal New York City. Let's explore each one.
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Launched at the start of Season 1, Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown is a Convoy map, specifically designed for the game's payload mode. Players either escort or obstruct a moving vehicle across the map. This is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.
Midtown depicts a darkened New York City under Dracula's Blood Moon. Points of Interest include iconic Marvel locations and real-world Midtown Manhattan landmarks:
- Baxter Building
- Grand Central Terminal
- Stark/Avengers Tower
- Fisk Tower
- Ardmore's Bookstore
- Timely Trend
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
This unique rendition of Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum is the sole map currently featuring Doom Match mode – a free-for-all deathmatch. Top-performing players earn wins, with the best player receiving MVP status.
The map beautifully recreates Doctor Strange's home and headquarters, first introduced in a 1963 comic and famously featured in the MCU. Expect hidden secrets, supernatural rooms, impossible architecture, and even an encounter with Bats the Ghost Dog.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Details on Central Park are limited, as its release is anticipated for the latter half of Season 1. The map is expected to feature a stylized Belvedere Castle, situated at one of the park's highest points, offering a fitting Gothic backdrop for the Empire of Eternal Night theme and potentially serving as a Dracula hideout.
These are all the confirmed new maps for Marvel Rivals Season 1.
