Warzone Mobile Shuts Down: Call of Duty's Mobile Version Closes

Author : Victoria Update : May 20,2025

After just a year on the market, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is being phased out. Activision has officially announced that this mobile version of the popular battle royale game will no longer receive seasonal updates or new content. As of May 18th, it has been removed from both the App Store and Google Play Store. Real-money purchases are now disabled, and anyone who hasn't downloaded the app by the specified date will permanently lose access.

This abrupt closure marks the end of what was intended to be a significant mobile release, aiming to deliver the complete Warzone experience to mobile users. Despite the studio's pride in replicating the Warzone experience on mobile devices, the game apparently didn't resonate with mobile gamers as successfully as it did with PC and console players.

For those who have already installed the game, you can continue to play online after May 19th. While matchmaking and online play will remain operational for the time being, social features have been turned off, and there's no set date yet for when the servers will shut down entirely. The in-game store will still be accessible, but only to spend existing COD Points—no new purchases can be made.

As a gesture of goodwill, players with remaining COD Points can transfer them to Call of Duty: Mobile. From now until August 15th, by logging into Call of Duty: Mobile with the same Activision account, you'll receive double the value of your unused Warzone Mobile COD Points, plus additional rewards.

For those who have not yet installed or reinstalled the game by May 19th, this is your final chance. After this date, no refunds will be issued, and the game will become completely inaccessible. This serves as a stark reminder that even the most prominent franchises may not always find long-term success in the mobile gaming world.
