Find Winterfest's Sgt. Winter in Fortnite Update

Mariah Carey has thawed out, launching Fortnite's Winterfest event for the 2024 holiday season! To tackle the event quests, players must locate SGT. Winter and discuss his "Wintervestigation." Here's how to find him.

SGT. Winter's Location in Fortnite Chapter 6

The initial Wintervestigation quest directs players to SGT. Winter for a briefing. These quests appear to involve teaming up with Noir to uncover clues and discover new NPCs across the Chapter 6 map.

The quest marker will pinpoint SGT. Winter's location on the map, even before you start the match. He's situated near a plane crash site atop a snowy mountain, east of Warrior's Watch and south of Foxy Floodgate. This area is close to Mariah Carey's in-game concert location.

Finding SGT. Winter and Completing the Quest

Upon landing, you'll find SGT. Winter patrolling near the plane wreckage. He's marked by a speech bubble icon on the map and HUD. Interact with him to access a menu offering a Holo Twister Assault Rifle, Blizzard Grenade, or dialogue options.

Select the magnifying glass icon to initiate the conversation about his Wintervestigation. This text-based dialogue will provide your next mission: finding Noir in Seaport City. Completing the dialogue rewards 25,000 XP.

Surviving the SGT. Winter Location

While the quest itself is simple, surviving to reach SGT. Winter presents a challenge. As an early quest, the area is a popular drop zone. Consider waiting a few days for the crowds to thin.

Alternatively, land early and secure a nearby chest for immediate loot. Utilize the plane wreckage for cover, and eliminate opponents as they engage each other. Many players might only have pickaxes, offering a fighting chance with a good team and some luck with loot chests.
