¡Valve desata una actualización de SDK de fuente monumental, que otorga acceso completo al código y el código de servidor del cliente y del equipo de Team Fortress!

Esta innovadora actualización permite a los jugadores elaborar juegos completamente nuevos utilizando el código fuente de TF2. A diferencia del taller de Steam o la modificación estándar, este lanzamiento permite modificaciones extensas, expansiones e incluso reescrituras completas de Team Fortress 2.

Si bien se prohíbe la comercialización, todas las creaciones deben permanecer gratuitas y no comerciales, las modificaciones y los juegos dudosos resultantes se pueden publicar en la tienda Steam, que aparece como entradas independientes dentro de la biblioteca de juegos de Steam.

En una publicación de blog, Valve enfatizó las importantes contribuciones de la comunidad a TF2, afirmando: "Los jugadores han invertido mucho en sus inventarios TF2, y el taller de Steam muestra una riqueza de contenido creado por la comunidad. La mayoría de los artículos en el juego es un testimonio de la dedicación de la comunidad TF2". Instaron a los modders a respetar esta inversión y abstenerse de crear modificaciones diseñadas para beneficiarse del trabajo de los contribuyentes del taller. Idealmente, Valve espera que MODS mantenga compatibilidad con los inventarios TF2 existentes de los jugadores.

Esta actualización expansiva también se extiende al catálogo posterior de Valve de títulos de motor de origen multijugador, introducir soporte binario de 64 bits, HUD/IU escalable, correcciones de predicción y muchas otras mejoras en TF2, DOD: S, HL2: DM, CS: S y HLDM: S.

Recuerde que diciembre marcó la conclusión de la larga serie Team Fortress 2 Comic con su séptima y última entrega. Estos cómics sirvieron no solo como una rica fuente de tradición y desarrollo de personajes, sino que también destacaron el compromiso duradero de Valve con una de sus franquicias insignia.
