2025's First Deadlock Update: Surprisingly Small

Author : Jack Update : Apr 15,2025

Valve has returned from their New Year break, and game developers are rolling out fresh updates across various titles. Following the news that Deadlock would shift away from its bi-weekly update schedule, fans were anticipating a hefty changelog. However, Valve chose to ease back into the year with a more modest patch.

This latest update focused solely on one hero: Yamato. The hero experienced a slight nerf, with reduced damage scaling and a decreased attack speed bonus at the initial level of Shadow Transformation. Other abilities like Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were also toned down, while Alchemical Fire saw a minor rework.

Given the size of this patch, it's probable that we'll need to wait for a more substantial update. However, pinpointing when that might happen remains a guessing game.

It's important to highlight that Deadlock has seen a dip in its player numbers recently. This could be attributed to the current popularity of Marvel Rivals. Nonetheless, maintaining a consistent player base of 7,000 to 19,000 during its deep beta phase is still a respectable achievement. Keep in mind, Valve has not yet shared any information about a potential release date or the game's monetization strategy.
